    This book started with Drew winning a bid to spend the weekend with Scarlett and do all kind of naughty things a dominant and a submissive do together. The sex scenes were hot, and I could feel the chemistry between the main characters. My problem is that throughout the book you could tell that Drew was more smitten with Scarlett than her with him. But besides that it was a good story, and I really want to know Scarlett’s secrets.

    You think you know the submissive bought at the auction story, but here the heroine does not run off with the dominant. At least not yet! I hope appearances aren’t everything and Hannah and Drew get a HEA.

    I couldn’t put this book down!!! It is exciting, nerve wracking and intense!! Can’t wait to find out what happens with them!
  • Bad writing, abusive relationship

    Not only is the writing poor, with weird hyphens in non-hyphenated words (i.e. “Cinderella-la”), the relationship is a misrepresentation of BDSM and emotionally abusive to boot. Male lead is constantly hot then cold, makes heroine second guess herself, and gaslights her whenever she has serious concerns (after one fight over his potentially revealing her identity without her permission, SHE apologizes for making HIM mad). The BDSM dynamic is wrong, too. It’s more like a controlling or manipulative vanilla relationship than healthy D/s. The communication is poor, the sub constantly talks back, and rules are set but almost never followed (by the Dom, no less). He also unrealistically pushes a semi-hard limit in one of their first encounters.
