Since we first looked at the stars, there has been a silence, no signs of alien life, no one who has tried to speak to us, a mystery that a long dead scientist called the Fermi Paradox.

    I have some age behind me and have read books from my signal digits. Back at the start stories about horses (my friend flicka), in my teens the silver chalice (Costain), watership down (Adams) to mention just some. Watership downs was one my reads that I reread several times. I was often asked what book I really enjoyed was that book. I have a tendency to speed read so on rereading Watership down I would find more depth to the book. Once I read an author that I really enjoy, I tend to read all of their books. Some are consistent in maintaining my interest but some change in ability. One that stands out is the author of the “Clan of the Cave Bear” by Auel. I continued on reading her many books until I could see a pattern in which she seemed to be writing more about women’s liberation than staying alive in prehistoric times. I remember reading a Grisham book on a cruise. It was one that had just been released and several passengers were reading theirs at the same time. It is not often that a book can make me laugh out loud but that book did and made the passengers around me to look at their book covers to see if they were reading the same book. I digress. I want to read your next book. You have powerful ideas and I can see many ways in which you might head. You have the detail and colour and I have already passed your name onto another avid reader of this genre Gordon
