Against this backdrop our story begins. Zara Webb is a student at New Ayers Rock Technology University. Her field of study is Vendu environmental technology. She's genuinely invested in changing Earth's environment. But she also has a deeper, forbidden reason for being there. Her entire life changes when she ends before a Vendu High Judge, charged with crimes against Vendu society. When she learns of her punishment, Zara's terrified! It's not just the loss of her student status. She'll lose her one chance to save the most precious treasure in her life. Vendu society is rigid. The ruling of the High Judge is final. Zara pleads for mercy but receives the harshest of sentences. What is she going to do? She'll be publicly humiliated. The cultural exchange program will ban her. Is there a way out? Can she escape? High Judge Galen Hosta sentences Zara. He's not unaffected by her pleas for mercy but the law is clear. However, the little human intrigues him. After much thought, he offers Zara a choice. The better question is how will Galen react when he learns that all is not as it seems? One thing seems certain. The Vendu and Earthlings need each other. They have to establish lasting peace, regardless of the price that needs to be paid. Jaye Peaches is a new author for me. This book took me by surprise because it's not your average sci-fi erotic romance. The premise is very unique. I loved that the story is set on Earth, in the future, with the coexistence of two species. The story is creative, inventive, and incredibly HOT! But it also demonstrates an understanding of human nature and the fact that, as humans, we often don't know ourselves quite as well as we think. There's a true depth of emotion as well. While this is not technically a BDSM novel, it does contain many elements of BDSM which is a genre I love. The plot is well-developed. The characters are unique and imaginative. It's very clear that Ms. Peaches has done a significant amount of research into the locations in which the story is set. The descriptions of the changes that have taken place over the decades in which the story is set are incredibly detailed and absolutely breathtaking. Jaye Peaches has created a very special story that shows her creativity and talent. I was captivated from beginning to end. This story is enchanting, and I've once again found another "favorite author!" I give Chosen by the High Judge my very best recommendation. Thank you, Jaye Peaches, for such a rare and exceptional treat. One final note. Please be an informed reader and consumer! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes.
