    Wes and Drew were twin brothers who did everything together. Drew, the older brother by four minutes, was the boisterous, outgoing, flirtatious brother. While Wes was the shy, studious, somewhat nerdy "younger" brother. If Drew wanted something, Wes was always the one to step aside. Although Wes met Hannah first and thought she was "the one", he was too shy to ask her out. In walks Drew and he sweeps Hannah off her feet. Hannah really liked Wes and could never figure out why he didn't ask her out. Nevertheless, Wes steps aside and deems this his biggest regret. After Drew marries Hannah, Wes decides to enlist to help Doctors Without Borders. This way, he won't have to watch them be happy. While abroad, Drew suffers a fatal heart attack leaving Hannah and Abby behind. Several months after Drew's death, Wes returns home to take over the family medical practice. When he runs into Hannah, he realizes that she's still grieving as much as he is. While Hannah thinks it's panic inducing to see Wes, she also realizes they have something in common. Wes, Hannah, and Abby begin spending time together remembering Drew and working through their grief. But spending time together also has its drawbacks in a small town. Abby wants Wes to be her new "daddy", but everyone says it's wrong--including Wes' mom. Hannah and Wes start having feelings beyond being friends, but know there's a lot of obstacles to overcome and don't know if they have it in them to do it. I loved this story! It encompasses so many emotions, angst, and surprises. Melanie Harlow has you crying one minute and hopeful the next that everything will work out. This story deals with the loss of not only a spouse, but a dad, brother, and son. While it is sad and does require kleenex, it's also joyous. The struggle to move on after a loss is very real, but encouring in that one can survive and move on. I highly recommend this novel! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

    An emotional page-turner! Melanie Harlow never fails with her heartfelt stories that hit her readers right in the feels. Powerful, moving, and exceptionally well written, From This Moment captures the true essence of lost love and the journey taken towards a new future. The struggles expressed were raw, and incredibly authentic. The heartbreak was tragic and devastating. But through it all was the genuine love that flowed in the story. Carving out a "new future" may not have been in the plans for the characters, and the hard decisions faced with what felt right but might appear wrong showcased true dedication and empowerment. From This Moment is the type of story you will get lost in for hours. Love, sacrifice, sorrow...this story bleeds emotions. It's an unquestionable must read, and one you won't be able to put down. 5 Stars!

    "Maybe the best way to drive home that Wes was not Drew was to let him in, not shut him out." I cried so hard. There were several times that I swore wouldn't get to me but they did. It's emotionally draining at some parts but you're heart is so invested in the story, it is hard to come up for air. The best way I know how to describe this novel is to say we can't help who we fall in love with. "I didn’t want it. I wasn’t ready for it. But love comes without warning." Hannah is struggling with just getting out of bed most days. Her daughter Abby is the other thing that keeps her going. When her deceased husband's twin brother moves back home, she runs into him in the grocery store and about has a panic attack. She thinks she was doing so good before he returned but really she was just a shell walking through life. Wes misses his twin brother, Drew and wants to help out with his niece. What starts off innocent turns into something more, something stronger, worth fighting for. I was torn between these characters. I felt like Hannah has suffered enough and didn't need the drama that being with Wes would ultimately bring. At the same time, the reader gets a glimpse of Wes putting her back together. Some of the secrets that come out are beyond shocking. It's not what you would expect and digs the knife in deeper. Definitely an extraordinary tear jerker that will have you gasping in you're seat. **Review by Sallie**
  • Beautiful Story

    I'm going be honest here. A part me didn't want to read this. From the blurb, I just knew it was going to be an emotional one. I wasn't sure I was in the right mindset to have my heart ripped out. Also, I've read books were the widower falls for her late husband's brother. Never have I read one where the the brother is an identical twin. I didn't know how to feel about that. All that being said. I am so happy I read this book!! It's my favorite Melanie Harlow book to date. SO GOOD! I absolutely LOVED it!!! From This Moment is a beautiful, sweet, emotional and swoony story about moving forward after loss, decade long unrequited love, and finding happiness again. I enjoyed every second of it. Gah! This book gave me all the feels. Happiness, sadness, anger, love and hope - I felt them all!! I can't state how much I adore this book! Hannah and Wes have a great and electric connection. When they get together, *blows out breath* It's hot!! They know that they shouldn't be together. They didn't not want to dishonor her husband/his brother. Fear of what others think, a condescending mother-in-law, and a fear of the future kept them a part. But, the more time they spent together the more her affection for him grew and his already deep love for her just got deeper. It's so lovely. Wes Parks is a legitimate dream man. I absolutely adore him. He's so sweet and selfless. Can you imagine watching the woman you love fall in love and marry your brother?! All those years of a one sided love, ugh, my heart broke for him. Every time Hannah said she couldn't be with him. I wanted to scream, "I'll take him!" Love love love him. I highly recommend picking up From This Moment. It's Melanie Harlow's best to date. I did not want to stop reading this gorgeous book. I dare you not to fall for the very dreamy Wes Parks.

    I loved this emotional and moving story! Melanie Harlow balances the swoons, angst, and laughs so perfectly in this heartbreakingly beautiful second chance romance. Wes is now my favorite Harlow man! He was loving, compassionate, humble, adorably sweet, and just the right amount of alpha in the bedroom. My heart broke for him once his history with Hannah was revealed. I couldn't help but fall in love with him, as he showed time and time again what an incredible man he was. Yes, there were some mistakes along the way, but every decision he made was with the best of intentions, even if it cost him his own happiness. It was this sincerity that endeared him to me. His chemistry with Hannah was scorching and I could not get enough of these two! From the synopsis you know that this isn't going to be an easy journey for our characters. The stigma coupled with the guilt is overwhelming at times for Hannah and Wes. Add in an overbearing and jealous mother/mother-in-law (Lenore is so well done! You will love to hate her!) and an adorable but confused 5 year old, and it's a mine field of emotions. Can love overcome this tangled history and come out victorious in the end? One of my favorite things about reading Melanie's books are the little cameos from her previous characters. I loved getting a little update on Jack and Margot's life and it was the perfect little morsel for my Valentini loving heart! You definitely don't want to miss this touching love story!

    For me, From This Moment is Melanie's most emotional book to date. The subject matter not something you encounter all that often. A widow whose late husband's identical twin brother has returned home after years abroad in Africa. A man who looks and sounds exactly like the man she thought she was going to spend the rest of her life with. How do you handle that? Can you handle that? For the past 18 months, Hannah has been barely surviving each day since the sudden and unexpected death of her husband. If it weren't for her five year old daughter, Abby, she probably wouldn't even make it out of bed each day. What is the point? The love of her life is gone, and in the blink of an eye, her entire world as she knew it is irreversibly changed. And now her brother in law Wes is back in town, and it is more than she can handle to look at him, listen to him, and not immediately think of late husband. But the more time Hannah spends with Wes, the easier it becomes to see him, and the less he reminds her of Drew, her late husband. At what point did he become just Wes, a man she loves to spend time with, looks forward to spending time with? A man she's finally getting to know fully without him being in the shadow of his brother. Is that wrong? She feels like it is, the guilt weighing on her. But then the guilt comes less and less, and the more Wes talks about how he's always felt about her, she begins to think that maybe she can open her sheltered heart to the possibility of something more than just a familial relationship. I absolutely loved getting into Wes' head. Especially when he recalled the past and how he had met Hannah first, the shyness he struggled with, and ultimately how he always put his brother ahead of himself. It tugged at my heart so much to learn all that he had given up and watching from the sidelines as his brother found love with the girl he knew all along was meant to be his. Ugh, no wonder he joined Doctors Without Borders and stayed away for so very long. Melanie just blew me away with the depth of emotion, the complex story of what many people would consider a taboo subject. A woman falling in love with her dead husband's identical twin? Oh the gossip!! The unnecessary drama caused by nosy people just looking for dirt to spread. Wes and Hannah already feel like they're walking a tightrope of emotions, knowing in their heart of hearts that what they're doing isn't wrong. But can love really be enough to overcome all the obstacles they face? Some of them coming from their own family? The supporting cast of characters felt like coming home for me, having read about many of them in Melanie's other books. It was wonderful to see Jack and Margot, and Daisy and Pete again. Little Abby just stole my heart, and another character made me want to wring their neck. Actually two characters, but you'll have to discover them for yourself. This book is filled with a lot of emotions. I ran the gamut of feeling sad, heartbroken, hopeful, happy and a slew of others that totally had me glued to this story to see how it would turn out. The hopeless romantic in me was rooting for love - because love always wins.

    I've always loved Melanie's writing and this book is now one of my favorites. I immediately fell in love with the characters. The book had a great balance of ups and downs in this funny, witty, and at times sad story.
  • Love This Book

    I read single parent books every now and then. This books makes me think that I should read them more often. Is there anything hotter than a sexy man being amazing with a cute kid? This book hooked me from the beginning. I fell in love with the characters almost instantly. I want a Wes of my own! I enjoyed being stuck in Hannah's head. I did my best to read it slowly and savor it. I really enjoyed reading this book. It has a hot doctor, a strong single mom, a sweet little girl and a crazy mother-in-law. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I'm just going to sit here and wait for a hot doctor to come sweep me off my feet. If you enjoyed this book, I would suggest reading Heat Wave by Karina Halle. They are different, but the trope is similar. I really enjoyed both equally.

    A NON SPOILER REVIEW. Hannah, Abby, Wes and even his mom, will melt your heart in this beautiful story about second chances, I was blown away with this story, The depth of the characters and their heartbreak was truly gut wrenching. They all had strength, they shared loss, they were torn between right and wrong, there were choices and decisions to be made, the problem was no one knew which were going to hurt and which would make them okay. Melanie Harlow has told a story here that will break your heart and mend it. Her writing is spot on, the story flowed perfectly. The characters relatable. I felt Hannah’s pain along with her confusion. I understood Wes determination to make things right. And most importantly Abby stole my heart.

    Melanie Harlow left me breathless and drenched in feels, yet again, with her unique tale of grief, loss, heartache and pain, but also love, hope and happiness. From This Moment is a book that will move you to tears; it will stab at your heart and make you feel every struggle Wes and Hannah went through each step of the way. It will make you think and conjure up your own theories on how these two will make it with a happy ending and have their delicate relationship survive the hell they were put through. All of it was more than an uphill battle you'll experience together with these characters. The organ in your chest will ache and bleed. Your gut will churn and burn. But in the end, Ms. Harlow also made sure to mend the pieces of your heart and soul back together. It was definitely an emotional journey, to say the least. This tale was gut-wrenching and heart-rending in all the ways, but it was also sexy and titillating. The sizzling chemistry and unyielding connection were absolutely present between Hannah and Wes. They were explosive once their clothes were off. And Wes always took the heat up a notch. The love they felt for each other grew day by day. But then you also won't be able to help but keep asking yourself the whole time, will that ever be enough for them to get their happily ever after? The moment I read what this book will be about, it already had my mind reeling and spinning and whirring. It made me think right away of the possible ways this story could go. Of the emotions, doubts and insecurities that will arise once things develop further between Hannah and Wes, given their unusual situation. I dreaded the onslaught of feelings and heartbreak I knew this book was about to rain down on me, but it was all worth it. Once I reached that last page, I felt like I could breathe again. Like my heart was shocked back to life. And as morbid as it sounds, I loved it—every second of this breathtaking and wonderfully written novel.
